big things

Cassidy turned 19 months on Saturday. In just the past few days I am amazed at the things she can now do. We have had a delightful string of days with very little whining or boundary testing. Instead, she's following directions and now knows when she's doing something she shouldn't. For instance, on our walk home tonight from Tiff and Tom's (she was on my back in the babyhawk carrier) she nipped the skin on my back between my shoulder blades. She immediately realized what she did, said "sorry", rubbed my back with her hand, said "nice", then kissed the same spot. So, so sweet!

Since we've had a few days of crazy heat and then thunderstorms today, we've really increased our tv time. Not cool, but I'm amazed at the way Cassidy now"interacts" with the television. On many of the toddler shows they'll ask the viewer questions and Cassidy answers every time! Today on Little Einsteins they were learning about the word staccato in music, so Cassidy ran around the living room shouting "staccato, staccato!"

And lastly, she started creating two and three word sentences. This is super exciting because you know that she's really understanding the meaning of words, not just repeating them. So much fun!
