3 months

Dear Cassidy,

Wow, can you believe how time flies?  Daddy’s little girl is 3 months old today.  It is hard to imagine how much you have changed our lives so far.  Mommy and Daddy go to bed early, get up early, stay home on weekends and it is all so we can spend the most possible time with our sweet little monkey.

Speaking of bedtime, I think we're finally starting to figure things out.  You're back in the pack n' play in our room, but it's mostly for Mommy's sake.  The other night you fell asleep around 8 pm and didn't wake for your first feeding until 4 am!  You ate for ten minutes and went right back to bed.  It was awesome.  You may wake more often than that, but you quietly soothe yourself back to sleep.  Yay!

As mentioned a few days ago, you're really getting into your toys lately.  You like to shake your keys and "squish", you bat at the objects hanging from your play gym, snuggle with your frog "Hoppy", and you'll even hang out in your swing for much longer periods of time.  You'll entertain yourself for at least 20 to 30 minutes with each new "station" before you get bored.  You also LOVE to talk.  It's very sweet, testing out every new sound you can make while you gaze lovingly into our faces.  Mommy often sings to you as you fall asleep, this past week you started singing back!  It's hysterical.

You're getting better and better at tummy time each and every day.  You're fussing less and working hard at lifting your head and chest off the ground.  You are very strong and love to stand on our laps and look around.  You work hard to catch our attention with that super gummy smile and it always works.

Cassidy, you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and I can’t believe you belong to us.  Your smile (and there are lots of them) absolutely lights up a room.  You are silly and goofy just like Daddy and I love it.  You are growing so fast that we have to take non-stop pictures just to keep up with your changes.  You are already wearing 3-6 month clothes and I bet you’ll be in 6-12 month clothes by your 4 month birthday.  

I guess what I am trying to say Cassidy is that Mommy and I love you so very much.  We wish we could keep you young and small forever, but you are on your own path and we are here to guide you.  We will always be here to hold your hand and show you the way.  We can’t put into words how much we love you and how you have changed us.  You will always be our perfect little monkey.
