Yesterday was Thanksgiving and we had an awesome day. Tiff, Tom, Mason, & Megan came on over to 227 Doyle for our feast. As weird as it was not to be with family on Thanksgiving, we have to admit that it was great not to have to deal with traffic. We were in charge of the turkey, stuffing, and potatoes. Tiff and Tom brought the cranberries and veggies and Megan brought the pies (yumm) and the rolls. This was the first time we have ever made a turkey, so I consulted my trusty Food Network encyclopedia of recipes and came up with a maple cranberry glazed turkey that was to die for.

AJ, of course, made the table look phenominal
14 lb turkey with chestnut bread stuffing and a garlic, parsley, and herb rub

The "Expert" carver. Actually, I watched a "how to carve a turkey" documentary just minutes before I started the carving. Thanks Alton Brown!

The table with all the food
A plate with all the fixins. Turkey, sweet potato casserole, squash, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, and gravy.

The happy guests

AJ and Gus, isn't he a little cutie?
