Well, we survived! Depending how much you follow along, you may or may not know about our potty training plan. Due to the plague that ran through our house in December, we had to postpone our original timeframe and moved it to this past weekend. A friend of mine passed along what is known as the "3 Day Potty Training" plan and knew back in the fall that she was ready. But, the key ingredient in the "plan" is that you need to stay home for 3 days, glued to your child's side and scheduling was a factor.
Anyway, Cassidy was a freakin' rockstar! We started Saturday and I pretty much wanted to quit that first morning. There were many, many pee accidents and then Cassidy thought it was a hilariously fun game to tell me she had to go every two minutes for almost two hours. I was exhausted!
But, after her nap on Saturday she got it. Believe it or not, the whole "poop" challenge was never an issue. I think because she gives plenty of warning in that department AND knew she would get two treats, she has yet to have a poop accident. This makes the whole laundry situation much more tolerable.
What's also exciting is that she woke from each three hour nap, completely dry! We decided we're still doing Pull-Ups at night though. We finally have Cassidy sleeping till 7:00 am most mornings and neither of us wanted to mess with that. It's fine, she's still a baby.
And finally, the scenario I was most nervous about, the hour she and I spend in the car in the morning taking Brian to work and her to daycare. We had our first run this morning and she passed with flying colors!
Can you tell I'm proud? We definitely are. Sorry you had to read all about it, but it's one for the books, right?

this morning i had the wonderful treat of mason (who has not had an accident in a week)not only peeing in the car on the way home from swimming, but again about 5 min after i got him into clean dry clothes. definitely a morning i could have used a glass of wine by 11:30.
anyway- may you have all the "no nasty laundry" blessings continue !!
go cassidy go!!!! we wanted to do that but never had 3 days home!!! now maeve is starting to ask and we have to do it all again!
That's great! It gives me great hope for my plan to start during February break. Gus will have been at a daycare with three older kids for a month by then, so hopefully he'll have some good role models.
What did you give Cassidy as treats?
We started with Raisinets, but that didn't last long. But we had some leftover gummy worms from her birthday party that she LOVES and never gets to have otherwise. I think the treat is key for motivation!
