Brian and I spent the week visiting his parents in western Massachusetts. We had to attend a memorial service for Brian's Uncle Fred last Saturday and we had tickets to see James Taylor at Tanglewood for the 4th, so we decided to save the gas money and camp out at Chez Weigand.
We had a great time at Tangelwood celebrating Mr. Taylor's birthday with a variety of special guests. John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston orchestrated the event, sang, and played guitar, Yo Yo Ma performed, Paul McCartney and Homer Simpson had created video tributes, and Carole King performed three duets with James. We had no idea what the night had in store for us, but it was such a pleasant surprise! And of course, as every 4th of July concert at Tanglewood, the evening finished with a beautiful fireworks display.
