five months
Dear Guaca- Molly,
Five months! Almost a half a year old? Whaaaaa?
Lots of big changes this month. You are huge. Unofficially 27 inches and 18 pounds, that's 9 - 12 month clothing at five months old and three rolls on each thigh. Our little turkey. Your baldness is slowly filling in and your cradle cap is completely gone. It's still a mystery as to what your eye color will be. They're darker than Cassidy's were at this point, gray around the outside and brownish towards the center. Still no teeth, but you drool constantly and gnaw on everything in sight.
Your sleep patterns have become less desirable, but we're actively pushing through. I started the week unswaddling one arm at a time and the past three nights you've slept only in a sleep sack. The first three nights you woke yourself so completely it took me over an hour to get you back to sleep each night. Now the past three you've woken at least four times each, but fall right back to sleep while nursing. This is progress. I'm hoping to move you to your own crib by the end of February, but I will definitely miss my tiny sleeping partner. It has truly been such a lovely, loving experience.
You're becoming less and less dependent on your paci. Maybe we'll get lucky like we did with Cassidy? Still not a thumb sucker though either. You found your tongue this week and love to stick it out at everyone you see.
You have adopted the "cutest" little noise this week and exercise it all. day. long. Your daddy says it sounds like a squeaky hinge and it's LOUD. You're not upset as you make it, you just like the sound. Us, not so much.
Molly, you are as sweet and as smiley as ever. You and Cassidy get cuter every day with your hugs and snuggles and the way you watch her every move. Your big sister often comments on how she can't wait until you can run around with her. I don't think your mama and daddy are quite ready for that.
You're ability to sit alone is getting better each day. You still like to throw yourself backwards, so we always need to sit by your side. You're not super interested in rolling, but love to grab your feet and rock side to side while on your back. We started putting you in your exersaucer and you LOVE it. It's nice to have another option to set you down in while we get things done around the house.
We're still waiting till six months for solids and you're still nursing like a champ. 18 pounds worth of champ!
I can't think of anything else... we love you to pieces, little one!
Love, Mama and Daddy
