Saturday you turned 3 months old and you are such a joy! You are as sweet and gentle as can be and we love you so much. This month has brought on so many changes it's hard to keep up.
First of all, you just feel like a baby now and no longer a newborn. You are sturdier, more stable, and actually hold on while we carry you. You are crazy strong. You can lift your head during tummy time for minutes at a time and whenever we recline you, you automatically try to pull yourself up into a sitting position. Your arms and legs have always been strong, but now you grab for things and hold on tight or push off with your legs in an effort to stand on our laps.
You are rolls upon rolls, which we can't get enough of. When I weighed you Sunday, you were 15 1/2 pounds! Even your feet got chubby this month! You are definitely moving steadily into your 6 month clothing. Your eyes are still a very dark, grayish blue. It's anyone's guess what color they will actually become. Your hair is lightening and thinning. It seems like it may grow in like your sister's, bald on the sides and long on the top. You also have an impressive bald spot on the back of your head from rubbing it in your sleep. Your baby acne is finally 100% clear and I think your cradle cap is finally starting to disappear as well.
Your smiles are absolutely intoxicating. Beth, our daycare lady, says you are the happiest baby and just smile all day long. My favorite time is when I go to get you up in the morning. You are often already awake, just laying in bed looking up at the ceiling, but when you see me a big gummy smile takes over your face. I think it was Grumpy who noticed your eyes actually smile before your mouth. You're an absolute beauty.
You're still as mellow as they come and love to just hang out in your bouncer or swing as long as your sister is within sight. Cassidy loves to hold and snuggle you and you are surprisingly tolerant. You rarely fuss, but when you are upset, you definitely let us know. You go from 0 to 11 in two seconds flat, no warnings. But, the solution is usually easy to find.
Other than two nights last week, your sleep patterns are still amazing. You're still only waking maybe once or twice a night to eat and then right back out. You're stretching from around 8:00 pm to 6:30 am, although I'm pretty sure you'd sleep longer if we didn't have to get you up to go to daycare every morning.
I think your tongue tie issue has resolved itself. You nurse well and your newborn gassiness doesn't seem to be sticking around. You've transitioned without a hiccup to taking two bottles a day at daycare and nursing the rest of the time. So far I've been able to pump enough at work to stay far ahead of the curve which means less stress for everyone.
Anything else? You truly are such a little delight and charm everyone who meets you. We love you to the moon and back!
Love, Mama and Daddy
