it wouldn't be summer without james taylor

On Saturday we drove to Pittsfield to see James Taylor at Tanglewood. It's been a summer tradition since Brian and I started dating and we were very excited to include Cassidy this year. Keep in mind we had gone to the Red Sox game the night before, so we weren't sure just how Cassidy would handle two late nights in a row. The concert itself was great and we had a really nice time with the usual crew.

Who would have guessed that a James Taylor concert would be significantly louder than a baseball game? We had the stroller with us, so that helped, but every time Cassidy fell asleep, she would startle awake with the cheering crowd. That was not so much fun. She then woke up on the ride home and was all smiles and ready to play at 11:00 pm. We attempted bedtime around midnight and she screamed till 1:15 am. Also not fun. We'll have to remember in the future that maybe one late night a week Cassidy can handle like a champ, but more than that is asking for trouble! But, good news is the irregular schedule coupled with the return of daycare was not the anticipated disaster it could have been. Cassidy has returned to her lovely little self.
