baby bug's nursery: stage one

I am just so stinkin' excited right now!  If you recall this post from a few weeks ago, you'll remember that as anxious as I was to work on baby bug's nursery, we couldn't do much without having a professional come in.  Well...  today was the day and I am sooooooooo happy with how it came out!  A few before pics...

the built in shelves this morning

lack of closet doors (there were bi-folds when we moved in, but they took up too much room)

corner of the room where the disassembled bed now sits and the crib will soon go

entry and another shot of the shelves

And now, this afternoon!!!!!

sliding closet doors

reconfigured shelves, creating space for our changing table/dresser and using almost only the original wood from the removed shelves

new, removable radiator cover to protect little baby hands

We are incredibly happy with the results, the professionalism of this carpenter and his wife, and the best part?  Not only did he cost a third of what everyone else quoted us, he even came under his own quote by $25!!!  We're hiring this guy for every project from here on out!

Next stage will be painting, but that's not for another 3 weeks or so.  Meanwhile I'm just going to visit our new shelves every time I walk by...
